Taranaki Rugby - Bayleys Bulls Academy

Bayleys Bulls Academy:

The Bulls Academy's aim is to produce players for the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls while taking part in the CMK club rugby competition, CMK U19 and AICA Development representative programmes.

During the season, the Academy members will undergo sessions based on the six key pillars of rugby development;

1. Technical
2. Tactical
3. Physical
4. Nutrition
5. Psychological
6. Personal Development

These pillars are delievered by Taranaki Rugby and local resources.

Academy Manager Jarrod Heoata said the personal development aspect is an important area for players to ensure they are thinking about life outside and after rugby.

“We have resources to assist players with their off-field lives by holding sessions and workshops on budgeting, career paths, public speaking, social media just to name a few. It’s crucial to have a balance in life”, he said.

Additionally, the Academy’s also aims to make players better people which is part of the wholistic philosophy of the programme and aligns with Taranaki Rugby's values.
