MEDIA RELEASE
21 August 2019
Taranaki Rugby Football Union has reduced its match-day general admission tickets for home matches at Yarrow Stadium.
Tickets have been reduced from $22.00 for an adult to $10.50 due to restricted viewing areas from the northern and southern ends. Elevated marques have been built at both ends of the ground for hospitality patrons partially blocking the view.
Taranaki Rugby and stadium operators, the New Plymouth District Council, have installed temporary seating sideline for 1,684 fans for the season. The sideline stand is six meters away from the playing field, giving spectators a closer view than ever before.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Paul Veric said feedback from fans has been received and taken into account.
“We’ve realised from our sideline offering and other infrastructure in place that the viewing General Admission area is restricted. We want to give back to our fans by providing them with a cheaper general admission offering to encourage our communities to come join the celebration.”
Veric said we are grateful that the community are understanding of our current stadium situation.
Temporary grandstand tickets remain the same with all children 12 and under gaining free admission with a paying adult in block A and F and general admission.
Due to the late change, tickets will be available either online on Friday or at the gate on match day.
Current general admission ticket holders will be contacted to ensure they don’t miss out on this offer.
The Yarrows Taranaki Bulls host Northland on Sunday 25 August kicking off at 2:05pm.
