Yarrows Taranaki Bulls and New Plymouth Old Boys lock Tupou Vaa’i will join the Gallagher Chiefs squad for the 2020 Investec Super Rugby Aotearoa Championship.

The powerful two metre lock, who came through the Bayleys Bulls Academy system, has been training with the Gallagher Chiefs squad since the team returned to training.

Vaa’i has played eight matches for the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls after making his debut in 2018. The injury replacement is for locking duo Michael Allardice and Laghlan McWhannell, who have sustained season ending injuries.
