For the first time in nearly 12 months the Taranaki Rugby Football Union is all under one roof, located at the Pukekura Raceway in New Plymouth.
The commercial and community departments moved into the racecourse’s Tuson Stand on Tuesday joining the high performance team, who have occupied the stand since March this year.
The Union has been split across two separate sites after being evacuated from Yarrow Stadium in November last year due to safety concerns. The commercial and community team have been located at Sport Taranaki, until now.
Taranaki Rugby Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Parkinson is thrilled the staff are all under one roof and appreciated the support of the Pukekura Racing Board and Sport Taranaki.
“It’s been a challenging year for us, but now we are all together in the same building for the first time since we were evacuated from the stadium.
“We would like to thank Carey Hobbs from the Pukekura Racing Club and Howie Tamati from Sport Taranaki for their support and housing our various operations,” he said.
Parkinson said being in the same premise would ensure staff can re-connect with a lot of cross-over between the various departments.
He said sponsors, supporters, members and stakeholders are welcome to call into the stand at any time.
The ground floor of the stand has been set up with gym equipment for players while all staff are located on the above mezzanine.
