The Devon Hotel recommit as a Taranaki Rugby Major Partner

The Devon Hotel have announced they have extended their Major Partnership with Taranaki Rugby through until the end of 2026.

The Devon Hotel is owned and operated by Peter & Rosemary Tennent and their family.

The announcement that The Devon Hotel will continue as a major partner and the Official Hotel, Conferencing & Event Venue of Taranaki Rugby reaffirms their commitment to the game.

The Devon Hotel is well known to get behind anything that is positive for Taranaki, and the people who call Taranaki home.

“We’re grateful for the support of the rugby fraternity. It’s that support that enables us to make this ongoing commitment. There are few that are not positively impacted by the game, and the hundreds of folk that make the sport happen in Taranaki,” says Peter & Rosemary Tennent.

The Devon Hotel will be proudly branded on the back of the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls playing shorts and the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls #8 jersey, a jersey that was worn 41 times by Peter and Rosemary Tennent’s son in law Chris Masoe. Chris and Gemma are now permanently back in New Zealand and helping drive the business.

“From those early days as a player being looked after by the crew at The Devon Hotel and Marbles Buffet, I’m loving being about to help ensure that Devon hospitality continues today. Gemma and I are loving being back home in Taranaki”, says Chris Masoe. Or in Gemma’s words “It’s great to be able to help support organisations that give this region a lift – Taranaki Rugby does just that.”

Young Amber & Black fans will also benefit from The Devon Hotel’s support with Marbles Buffet vouchers distributed to lucky spin the wheel winners in the Matahio Family Zone on Yarrows Taranaki Bulls game day.

The popular Marbles Buffet dead ball catch will also return for the next three seasons. The first Amber & Black fan to catch the match ball clean on the full at each Yarrows Taranaki Bulls home game will win a $500 Marbles Buffet voucher.

Taranaki Rugby Chief Executive Officer Mike Sandle was delighted to have The Devon Hotel reaffirm their commitment to Taranaki Rugby for the next three years.

“The Devon Hotel have been supporting rugby in Taranaki for decades and are already recognised as the go-to hotel for rugby teams and their supporters. Everyone from aspiring young players to the All Blacks and visiting international and representative teams have chosen The Devon Hotel as their Taranaki home,” Mike Sandle says.
