Additional Information
Taranaki Foundation (formerly Te Karaka Foundation) is one of 17 community foundations throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. Its aim is to provide a simple, effective, long-lasting way for individuals, families and organisations to leave legacies or create funds to support local causes, and to ensure these gifts will achieve enduring benefits for our community. The Taranaki Foundation is unique in that it specialises in endowment gifting. Individuals, families and organisations can establish their own endowment fund or make contributions to an existing fund within the foundation. Donated funds are invested by the foundation and the annual income used to make grants to the community in line with donors’ wishes. Since 2015, it has been our pleasure to see the gifts of generous organisations and individuals grow and provide an immeasurable impact within the Taranaki community.
Taranaki Rugby is a proud provincial union with a wonderful rugby history since 1885. TRFU focuses its energy on two areas of rugby; professional rugby and the grassroots community game. Community Rugby is the lifeblood of Taranaki rugby. It is the breeding ground for first class talent in our province. Each season over 6000 players take to the rugby field with a swag of coaches, administrators and managers working hard off the field to make the grassroots competitions a success. Taranaki has 15 rugby clubs operating at the CMK senior level. This excludes those competing in the secondary schools competition. Junior rugby operates under the Burger Fuel Ferdie Rugby umbrella up until Secondary School.
