Taranaki Rugby Commercial Manager, Geoff Hitchcock today announced the signing of Yarrows The Bakers as the naming rights sponsor of the new Yarrows Kids Eat FREE* program for the 2016 and 2017 Port Taranaki Bulls seasons.
This new initiative will see the first one thousand kids that attend a home Port Taranaki Bulls match at Yarrow Stadium provided with a free meal. This program is another step towards making rugby the most affordable entertainment option for families in Taranaki.
This new initiative was launched in room 1 of Marfell School today with the help of Ferdie the Bull. The class of 30 kids were provided a sample of the FREE meal they can expect courtesy of Yarrows at Yarrow Stadium when they get along and support their Port Taranaki Bulls team in the 2016 Mitre 10 Cup.
oing to see the Port Taranaki Bulls play is now the best value for money stadium experience in New Zealand. For game day the most affordable option is a general admission family pass which includes 2 adults and up to 3 kids for just $25 (plus service fees) and now with Yarrows support, each child in the family will get a great FREE meal.
Included in the kids free meal will be a delicious Yarrows cookie, sandwich, a piece of fruit and a pump water, more than enough to keep the hungry kids going for the whole game.
Taranaki Rugby Football Union Commercial Manager, Geoff Hitchcock praised Yarrows for their commitment to making attending games at Yarrow Stadium more affordable for families and said: “Taranaki Rugby recognises that times are tough at the moment and taking the family out to an event can be expensive, so it is extremely important that we look after the future fans of the Port Taranaki Bulls and get as many people to Yarrow Stadium cheering on our team as possible. It is fantastic to have a committed local company like Yarrows supporting this new initiative.”
Hitchcock also said “We would also like to thank KDJ Catering, Coca Cola and New Zealand Rugby for their support of this program”.
Yarrows Co-Director, Rosaleen Yarrow, said “We are delighted to be associated with the Kids Eat Free initiative. Yarrows have always focused on contributing to the community, and the opportunity to help enable the families of Taranaki to experience a more affordable outing at the rugby could not be missed.”
Also great value and continuing to grow in popularity is the always fun Hotter Engineering Family Zone. For those that get in quick (sold out for 3 games last season) you can get tickets for 1 adult and 1 child in the covered TSB Stand for only $20 (plus service fees) and with this the child receives a free meal and also a free kids goodie bag. Let’s not forget that also in the family zone is the free bouncy castle, play station area, Ferdie the Bull and other great activities to keep all the kids entertained so mum and dad can actually watch the rugby!
As well as being affordable for the family there will also be a huge range of entertainment on show at each home game. We have Ash and Aidan kicking things off before each game, the Hotter Engineering Family Zone seat bingo, the ever popular tee shirt canon and zorb ball force back half time entertainment. Another great thing about going to the rugby at Yarrow Stadium is being able to go onto the field (weather permitting) after the game and get the signature of your favourite player or just kick the ball around on the same field as your hero’s.
